Behoefte:
We wish to have a logo that portrays and captures the nature and goals of our project. This project is unique: it is the first project, funded by the European Union, that aims to fight the international traffic in human beings for the purpose of organ removal. This crime is one of the most abhorrent global crimes that we witness today.
The nature of our project: with ‘nature’ we mean our focus and topic of research: people that are trafficked for their organs. The most common organ that is traded, is the kidney.
The goals of our project are:
1. to increase knowledge about human organ trafficking
2. to raise awareness among target groups
3. to organize an expert meeting where organ trafficking experts and competent authorities can express their views on project results
4. to provide recommendations to improve the non-legislative response to organ trafficking
Our target groups are:
1) Judicial and law enforcement authorities
2) Transplant professionals
3) International organizations
4) Human rights NGOs
Bedrijfsomschrijving:
The Erasmus Medical Center – University Hospital Rotterdam is the initiator and coordinator of the project. The project has 5 beneficiaries (partners): Erasmus MC (The Netherlands), Lund University (Sweden), Transplant Services Foundation (Spain), SACRI (Romania) and the Bulgarian Center for Bioethics (Bulgaria.
In addition, we have some very important associate partners, amongst which European Police Office, United Nations, Eurotranspant and the European Society for Organ Transplantation.
Thus: there is not just one company involved: this is a consortium that consists of 14 European and international institutions, including hospitals, professional transplant organisations and international organisations.
The European Commission HOME AFFAIRS Programme funds the project. This department of the Commission addresses the prevention and fight of organized crime in the European Union.

Our target groups are:
1) Judicial and law enforcement authorities
2) Transplant professionals
3) International organizations
4) Human rights NGOs
Kleuren, favoriete logo's, must haves
Unique feature of the project is that it aims to connect these target groups – to bring them together to share information and knowledge about the crime.
The project is based on the concept of sharing, visibility, connecting people, openness. We wish to have a logo that is simple, strong and that ‘sticks’ in one’s memory. No photo.
Colours and logos should represent the fight of crime.
The contest might be followed by a contest for a website design.

Hallo Dames
Ik heb jullie aanpassingen doorgevoerd en ook een versie zonder kettinkje gemaakt...ik ben benieuwd of dit inderdaad beter bevalt. Zelf vind ik het kettinkje wel mooi passen en het niet te druk maken opzich. Groeten, Marjolein -

Toelichting van de designer Marjolein:
Hallo!
Ik heb de wijzigingen die jullie aangaven ter harte genomen. Persoonlijk vind ik de wereldbol wat te druk, dus heb ik voor het idee ook even een versie gemaakt zonder de wereldbol. De handboeien zijn nu minder gestileerd en de harten zijn nieren geworden. Misschien leuk om 1 hart en 1 nier te doen, zodat de liefde voor het leven benadrukt wordt? Althans, zo interpreteer ik het:) Ik hoor graag weer van jullie! -

We zijn enthousiast, maar vinden het inderdaad ook nog te druk.
Zou je svp:
- de wereldbol willen verwijderen
- het woordje "the" willen verwijderen
- de onderste zin / letters groter willen maken ; het is moeilijk leesbaar nu.
- de handboei vinden we een hele goede zet dus die houden we graag. alleen vroegen we ons af of je de onderste "O" (in "project") als een normale o wilt houden (dus alleen handboei aan de bovenste o en niet ook in de onderste): dan oogt het wat rustiger (hopen we)
- de nieren houden we er graag in (dus geen hartjes)
We zijn heel benieuwd naar het nieuwe ontwerp!

Toelichting van de designer Marjolein:
Wauw! This certainly is an inspiring topic to create a logo for. I have kept it very simple, almost pictogram-like in style, so people will see the message in one look. The "o"-s are handcuffs, The "t"-s are people, the hearts stand out because they are the only coloured objects in te logo...this tells people that this project cares and protects:) I look forward to your opinion on this logo. Ziet er goed uit; 3 puntjes ter feedback:
1. zou je de harten kunnen vervangen door nieren?
2. het is ons niet duidelijk dat het handboeien zijn; kunnen deze nog duidelijker uitgebeeld worden?
3. het project heeft een sterke internationale dimensie: is het mogelijk ergens een wereldbol uit te beelden? misschien wordt het logo dan te druk, maar we zijn wel nieuwsgierig of dit zou kunnen ...
